Bruce McLaren won New Zealand's 'Driver to Europe' award in 1958. At the age of 22 he won the 1959 US GP. He was a pioneer of the Can-Am sports car championship as well as Le Mans winner in 1966. His cars monopolised Can-Am until 1971, and Bruce won the 1968 Belgian GP in his own car. Sadly, McLaren was killed in 1970 while testing his latest Can-Am car. |
