Catalytic converters were made standard on all Mustang II's for 1976 as US Federal emission laws were further tightened.

The 302 V8 was now available with the manual transmission, and a new Cobra II appearance package was available, through a partnership with Motortown Corporation, an outside vendor, although enthusiast magazines trashed it because it came with the four cylinder engine as standard.

Still, careful selection off the option sheet could build you a decent little performer, just like the glory days.
